Solar oil

Hello ladies

Solar oil is my little manicure in a bottle that I cannot live without.

Solar oil is a synergistic blend of naturally light oils including almond oil and vitamin E, designed to deeply penetrate and protect nails and cuticle area.

Regular use of solar Oil hydrates the skin surrounding the nail plate, it penetrates through the enhancement to moisturise the natural nail and it plasticizes the acrylic polymer to stop aging and drying, its use prevents lifting.

Solar oil can also be used on the natural nail to promote health and growth. I would highly recommend Solar oil is used after any nail treatment to keep that longer lasting effect from treatment. As it will enhance the life of extensions and keeps polish on natural nails longer.

All you need to do is rub the oil into cuticle area and the underside of your nails.

Aftercare for your new nail extensions

Hi Folks

I often get asked whats the best way to look after nails once they have been applied. You can pretty much do the same with your nail extensions as you can with your natural nails. Although they are very strong do not use them as tools as this could could damage both your acrylic nails and your natural nails.

Always where rubber gloves when washing up as water could seep in and cause the acrylic to lift.

Where your gloves when using cleaning products especially bleach as this will melt your nails.

Apply cuticle oil daily as this will keep your natural nails healthy.

If you wish to paint your nails use a base coat to help prevent strong colours such as reds from staining and always use non-acetone nail polish remover.

If you wish to remove your nail extensions do not pick them off this will cause damage to your natural nails, its best to book an appointment with your nail technician to have them removed or if you wish to do this yourself then you should soak them in acetone.

You can keep your extensions for as long as you wish however you do need to have a maintenance on them regularly to keep them in the best shape, this will usually need to be done every 2 or 3 weeks.

Hope this helps

Painting your nails

Hello Ladies

I thought I would give you my tips and advice on painting your nails. Not everybody needs nail extensions alot of people are lucky enough to grow their own or maybe just don’t like extensions.

To start you will need the following:

1) Nail file

2) Varnish remover

3) Cotton buds                                                                                            painting your nails

4) Base coat

5) Coloured varnish

6) Top coat

Firstly you will need to remove any old polish if you have any on, if you leave old polish on your finished look will not be as good. You will need to file your nails to get rid of any rough bits and any weak or broken nail, this will also help with the finished look.

You will now need to apply the base coat don’t worry if this is not done perfectly as this will not be noticed. Its best to apply a base coat as this will stop the nails drying out, will stop any staining and also helps keep the polish on longer. Allow this to dry.

You can now apply the coloured varnish always start in the middle with one stroke from the top to the bottom of the nail then move to the left and then to the right, you should now have covered your whole nail. Leave this to dry which can take 10mins depending on the make of varnish.

Once the first coat has dried you can then apply the second coat in the same way again you will need to let this this dry. Once dried you can remove any varnish that has gone onto the fingers by dipping the cotton bud into the vanish remover then gently apply where you have made any mistakes.

You can now apply the top coat, this will give your nails a really nice shine and will also seal the coloured varnish so will last longer. Now be patient and allow time for your nails to dry properly it will be worth it for a lasting affect.

TIPS:

Always warm your polish by rolling it in your hands and not by shaking it as this will cause bubbles in the polish.

If you have weak nails you could try using a nail strengthener as a base coat to make them stronger

If you are on a tight budget then use the  same polish for a base and top coat.

My best tip is to have fun by trying different colours to match your outfit, glitters to glam up, or even treat yourself to a full manicure.

How To Remove Acrylic Nails Successfully

Hello everyone

Welcome to my new tips and advice category. Today I’m going to talk about the removal of acrylic nail extensions.

I would recommend that you soak them off, if you pull them off or pick at them you will damage your natural nails.

Don’t worry its fairly easy if you know how…

This is what you will need:

1) Bottle of acetone (this can be bought from your local chemist)

bottle of acetone

2) A glass bowl (some plastic bowls may melt with acetone in them)

soak off bowl

3) Kitchen roll

4) Cuticle oil

5) Buffer

6) Files

First you need to fill your bowl with enough acetone to cover your nails, do not overfill as you want to avoid to much acetone touching your skin as this can be very drying on the skin, I would place some kitchen roll or newspaper in the surrounding area and under your bowl as this can sometimes be messy and the acetone could also remove the varnish from your table.

Leave your nail to soak for at least 15mins and you will see the acrylic starting to dissolve they will appear very soft, you can then gently file off the softened acrylic then replace back in the bowl. Try to avoid having your fingers out of the bowl to long as the acrylic will start to harden again.

Keep repeating this process until all of the acrylic has been removed. Your nails will look very poor at this stage so you should buff the nails with the buffer and then apply the cuticle oil and massage in. I would recommend having regular manicures to improve the condition of your nails.

Or at least apply some strengthening varnish to the nails regularly.

Hope this helps, Lisa
